she's got a ticket to ride.

DAY 12: Phoenix, AZ [7.26.06]
venue: Modified Gallery
bands: The Morning Kennedy Was Shot, The Valley Arena, Bullet Train to Vegas, The Fuck-Offs

the drive from Santa Fe to Phoenix was long and interesting. mad storms and crazy skies... and we stopped to gas up in this little town called Quemado. here's what the local gas station looked like:
we found many ways to entertain ourselves in the car.... and realized just how creepy noah can be:
on a long, windy mountain road, we were stuck behind this car for many miles. the message: "save the arctic people, drive slo, save lives". awesome.
... and yes, at one point we WERE driving only 20 mph. no wonder it took so long. watch out for the gravel on the 60.
so we finally got to modified, where it was effing hot! the boys unpacked the van and started gettin' ready outside, where there was a very nice uber warm breeze:
BRL played 2nd of 4 (which soon became 5!) bands. so great were BTTV and TVA to let BRL jump on the show last-minute. another one of those days... drive hella hours, get to the venue, jump on stage and rock!
after they played, evan slipped into something a little more comfortable to enjoy the show in:
so the valley arena played a rockin' set, then BTTV did as well.... and during their last song, mad chaos ensued! BRL, BTTV, and TVA all took the stage! it was madness, i say, madness! and it was also pretty metal. good job, boys.
so far, the most metal picture i've ever taken. next stop: motley crue.
yes, evan is playing bass between mike from TVA's legs:no words can describe this. let's just say we love dave and greg... but maybe not as much as they love each other.
and the big finish!

modified was quite possibly the most epic show ever. we all partied afterward... which included drunk power-wheels driving, failed attempts at swimming, 5 AM drives to get food, and general debauchery. phoenix continues to be good to us.
